A logo is one asset. A brand identity is the set of decisions that lets a team produce consistent work without asking the founder every time. If the system lives only in a PDF, it will not scale.
Start with positioning and voice
Before colour, decide who the brand is for, what it is against, and how it should sound. A clear position makes design decisions faster and reduces the endless subjective review that stalls projects.
Turn the identity into tokens
- Colour tokens with semantic roles, not a palette of hex codes.
- A typography scale with real usage rules, not just font names.
- Spacing, radius, and elevation tokens shared by design and code.
- Photography and illustration principles with examples of what is off-brand.
Build templates for the work people actually do
Social posts, ad variants, product pages, proposals, and email are where consistency usually breaks. Ship templates alongside the guidelines and make the default easy to use.
Document the decisions, not just the assets
Explain why the system works, where it can flex, and who owns changes. Review it after six months. A brand system is a product, and products need maintenance.
Our brand engagements deliver strategy, visual identity, and a practical system your team can run without us.
